Stortford Interiors (UK) Ltd recently agreed a sponsorship deal with Felixstowe & Walton Utd FC U7’s football team, managed by our Senior Project Surveyor, Steve Pitts. Just before Christmas the team took delivery of a brand new matchday kit and training tops, and Saturday 5th January was the first opportunity to show the new kit off.
Steve arranged for the players to be mascots for the Senior First Team Bostik North League game against Coggeshall Town FC, who are jointly owned by singer-songwriter Olly Murs. The players were given a tour around the football club, met some members of the Senior First Team, and were then treated to a training session on the pitch in front of family, friends and a few early arriving spectators. Felixstowe and Walton Utd’s media team interviewed some of the players and they then proudly accompanied the home team onto the pitch just before kick-off in front of 560 spectators. Coggeshall Town had Olly Murs in the away team dug out much to the amusement of the U7’s players and a few spectators! An entertaining game ended 3-0 in Felixstowe & Walton Utd’s favour and following the usual post-match team talks Olly kindly took time out to meet the U7’s and have a quick team photo. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon for the boys.
