Stortford Interiors wins Battersea Dogs & Cats Home project

Specialist architectural interior contractor, Stortford Interiors (UK) has secured the interior fit-out project for one the world’s best known charities, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

Appointed by main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, Stortford Interiors will deliver a broad scope of works within its ‘Interior Architectural Package Contracting’ offering, which includes in-house joinery division, Parkrose.

The six-month project for the charity, which takes in over 8,000 dogs and cats every year, encompasses the fit-out of the new hospital and administration building’s reception, assembly rooms and cellular office and meeting spaces. Work is already underway on the project and is expected to be complete by April 2016.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home projectStortford Interiors have been tasked with the design and installation of a multi-disciplined package which includes drywall, suspended ceilings (timber, mineral fibre and metal-pan), bespoke glass wall partitions, joinery and door sets as well as tea-point and washroom fit-out. Stortford’s are also working in close conjunction with project stakeholders to develop bespoke timber screens which will be complimented by cantilevered bulkheads.

The breadth of products and services required enables Stortford and Parkrose to manage intimate interfaces and provide appropriate design solutions which stay true to the aesthetic intent and satisfy the performance criteria.

Throughout the pre-construction and design process Stortford Interiors have worked collaboratively with the project team to secure best value for the Battersea charity. Methods of build have been consistently reviewed and construction has been closely scrutinised to ensure compliant cost-effective solutions are utilised.

Speaking about the project, Scott Shearing, BD & Pre-Construction Director of Stortford Interiors said: “It’s a great honour for Stortford Interiors to secure this project and to deliver our fit-out solutions for such a well-respected charity and help support their great work’’.

“The wide-ranging scope enables us to showcase our product and interface knowledge and provide the best solutions for the client. By working in close conjunction with our joinery division, Parkrose, we can ensure consistency and the highest levels of quality throughout delivery. We’re confident the finished product will meet everyone’s standards, including our four-legged friends! ”
