Parkrose awarded structural roof works package for 148 Old Street

Stortford Interiors’ (UK) in-house joinery division, Parkrose has been awarded the extensive structural roof works package for 148 Old Street, central London.

The new design for the 152,000 square foot commercial office redevelopment will see the building have a modern and dynamic internal space and an enhanced curb appeal with significantly improved street frontages.

Leading joinery company, Parkrose, has been appointed by Wates Construction to deliver an extensive package to the building’s rooftop, utilising the off-site manufacture of composite SIP panels, which helps to ensure quality and consistency, reduce site waste and maximise programme gains.

The scheme features a series of rooftop extensions, roof terraces and green roofs creating green spaces with an environmental target of BREEAM Excellent.

148 Old Street looks set to be another high-quality addition to the London commercial office market, following the completion of works at the end of 2017. Double height internal spaces will overlook private courtyards with terraces on all 11 floors. A new main entrance will create a pavilion along Bunhill Row with space for café and tenant lounges and other retail units.

Steven Harvey, Joinery Director at Parkrose said: “We’re delighted to be working with Wates Construction once more, and Great Portland Estates for whom we’re collaborating with for the sixth time in as many years.

“Our ability to provide quality off-site manufacturing services were a big bonus for our clients as it perfectly suits the demands of this scheme. This resourceful service is part of Parkrose and Stortford Interiors’ commitment to our client’s unique specifications.”
