Stortford Interiors wins Fruit & Wool Exchange project

Specialist architectural interior contractor, Stortford Interiors (UK) has secured the £2.6million drywall package contract for one of London’s major redevelopments, the Fruit & Wool Exchange.

Appointed by main contactor Sir Robert McAlpine, Stortford Interiors has initially been appointed to deliver a range of core services, including drywall, soffit insulation, MF, metal pan and feature timber ceilings to the building’s reception and core areas.

The project, which is due to begin in March 2017 and is expected to be complete at the start of 2018, is part of what’s regarded at the last major redevelopment site in the prime location surrounding the iconic Spitalfields market.

The scheme will deliver 320,000 sq ft of new grade A space, including 260,000 sq ft of quality office space and 40,000 sq ft of desirable retail, restaurant, café SME and community space, all within the heart of the Square Mile.

Throughout the pre-construction and design process, Stortford Interiors has collaborated with stakeholders to provide the best value whilst maximising Stortford’s exacting standards to deliver superior quality.

This is the latest project where Stortford Interiors have teamed up with Sir Robert McAlpine having previously delivered successful drywall packages at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, St James Square and high-end residential property, Riverwalk.

Scott Shearing, BD & Pre-Construction Director of Stortford Interiors said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed by Sir Robert McAlpine again to deliver our highly-respected core services.

“The high-profile scheme is part of a wider plan to redevelop one of London’s most famous locations. We’re proud to have been chosen to play a part in turning the development in to a landmark building which restores pride in the area and attract well-known businesses and retailers.”
