This new commercial building brings more than 450,000ft² of Grade A, BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ office space and premium retail provision to a prominent corner site just north of the new Crossrail entrance at Moorgate Station. The dynamic 27-storey structure has an articulated form with varied floorplates and has made a major impact on the ongoing regeneration of the area.

The development has created a double-height entrance and lobby along Ropemaker Street and a separate dedicated cycle entrance. A single storey of business space is located at mezzanine level within the ‘street block’. 425,000 sq/ft of occupiable office space covers 22 floors, and includes five accessible roof terraces. Three basement levels are provided for retail servicing, plant, facilities management, cycle and shower facilities.

Scope of Works
Stortford Interiors’ (UK) Ltd was awarded a substantial CAT A ceilings package by main contractor, Skanska. The scope captured an expansive and highly detailed SAS metal pan ceiling to the upper floors of the new build. The membrane consisted of irregular and tapering field tiles suspended within bespoke C-profiles to provide a triangular configuration. To certain floors panelled coffers were detailed, designed and delivered to give a unique appearance and accent to the installation. The metal pan products and accessories were sprayed in a combination of colours that enhanced the monolithic aesthetic and added to the install complication.

In addition to the field area ceiling and array of plasterboard margins were installed to perimeter areas and lift lobbies where they also received insert and recessed linear lighting as well as a variety of modular lay-in ceilings to back of house areas.

The package delivery was well received by the client and stakeholders alike who complimented Stortford Interiors on its attention to detail and early identification of installation risk and solution. The scheme once more enabled Stortford to deliver a large scale complicated project to exacting standard and reinforce its class-leading reputation and client-centric credentials.
